Bearhawk
The world’s premier bush Airplane kit

Model 5
The Bearhawk six seater and heavy hauler.
Like all of Bob Barrows designs, the Model 5 features a 4130 tube fuselage which is fabric covered with tail feathers also of steel tube and ribs fabric covered. Some fuselage parts are common to the four place Bearhawk like the rudder pedals and stick assembly. Like Bob’s other designs, oil dampened spring shock struts are used which absorb the impact of landing instead of bouncing you back in the air. The already big aft cargo doors of the four place BH are even larger on the Model 5.
Companion
Side-by-Side two place airplane kits
Over the years we have been asked many times if we offer a side by side 2-place model – and the answer has always been “no” – until now. The Bearhawk Companion was designed for this purpose.
The Companion is really derived from other Bearhawk models. Not per se a clean sheet design. The Patrol wings are used, and the 4-place Bearhawk fuselage is used also but with a number of modifications for the new model.

LSA
Two place tandem airplane kits
There is an assumption by some that because an airplane is a light-sport airplane (LSA) that it is a compromise and can’t fulfill the function expectation of a “real” airplane. It is assumed that it will be lighter, smaller, and slower. Of course that isn’t necessarily true, especially in the case of Bob Barrow’s latest design, the new Bearhawk LSA
“From the moment you climb aboard the Bearhawk LSA, you feel like you are sitting in a real substantial, solid airplane.”
Patrol
A high wing aircraft designed for comfort, endurance and fun.
The Bearhawk Patrol is a high wing aircraft designed for comfort, endurance and fun. The generous proportions of the cabin provide plenty of room for just about any sized pilot, a passenger (or two if they are small) and gear. The large baggage door ensures the ability to easily load your cargo.
The available visibility is outstanding both on the ground and in the air. The patrols flight controls are light and very responsive at cruise and slow speeds. Low landing speeds are further enhanced by the use of the 18 ft. span, manually operated flaps (up to 40 degrees).

Bearhawk Model B
The Second Generation of the Original 4 Place
Design engineer Bob Barrows had long wanted to try the Riblett airfoil used on the Patrol to improve the flight characteristics of the original four place Bearhawk. In addition, there were several design features Bob tried on the Patrol and Bearhawk LSA which he believed would benefit the four place Bearhawk. Here is a list of the changes made to the original Bearhawk to turn it into the Model B which is now the kit we are manufacturing.
